I am a installer who wants to get ahead , I have a contract with a company who picked up the HikVision product so I went to eBay and purchased one form a company that assured me he was a distributor and could help if I needed it , well I got home late and started opening up ther boxes and started to set it up for learning process ., well I should have waited till morning and I put in a strong password and now cannot get in the admin , and I did the saap tool and was told by hikvision that the ebayer was not and they could not help which I do understand but now here I sit and I am lost as to what to do I cannot just throw it out , I paid threw the nose it is a true system not the cheap non logo models , are there any options at my disposal to get into my system or am I just shit out of luck I also bought 8 of the HD cameras so I need some advice please anyone

it is a Ds-7208HGHI-SH and I have 8 Turbo HD cameras its the DVR Admin Password I messed up on , I should have never started when I was tired , and I guess I am naïve when it comes to trusting people , I should have done my due diligence and I really made a bad move

Do you have the ‘hidden button’ at the bottom left of the login screen? Double-click that. Needs to be with a monitor attached to the DVR, not via software.

yes I know that but I cannot get the security key from Hik vision that is generated from a algorithm they control here is the info from the saap tool but I did send it to hikvision and they told me I was shit out of luck \

Are they saying the unit didn’t come from them? Have you tried China?

Failing that I guess you’ll need to replace the DVR.

yes it is a oem dvr from hikvision the problem is that I bought it off of ebay from a non authorized reseller here is the serial number above to prove it like I said I admitted buying it off of ebay and they got mad and would not help could you please check and see please can you help me get the password reset , I know I should not have admitted it was bought off Ebay but honesty is best now I am just trying not to flush down the toilet 300 dollars, it really is oem

I’m just a Hikvision customer and have no influence with them. When I needed a camera unlocked it was as simple as sending the file and waiting for them to email the file to unlock it. I presume you are not in the U.K. like us.

yes i tried that but i told them where i bought it and that's where i went wrong i should have lied but that's not me so i guess i am screwed thanks for at least answering rick
