Dear all, I have a PTZ camera that uses RJ45 cable to the router the output can be then be watched on my computer or phone + storage via 'The Cloud'.

My question: Is there away of installing a simple/straightforward box of tricks which is RJ45 in (from camera) and RJ45 out (to router) c/w an HDMI output so I can watch the live footage on a Monitor via the aforementioned HDMI output?

Sorry I am a Paramedic and not a specialist in this field! I would love to know of ideas kind regards Paul.

Unfortunately, it's trickier than you might imagine.
You need a gadget known as a decoder to take the IP stream and generate the HDMI output.

Decoders are fairly expensive :(

So, it tends to be more cost-effective to use the App e.g. use a tablet that is running the App as a monitor.

Or, you can get gadgets that run Android and plug into your TV's HDMI input.

We used this one years ago:

Hopefully somebody can drop by with a modern recommended model that they have proven ...

Many thanks Phil - I have upgraded our main CCTV system using 8x 4K 8 MP cameras c/w a decent 8 channel DVR + Cat 8 cables - as my wife works in a in a very vulnerable job - a sad reminder of the times! I did have a look but thought someone like yourself could maybe point me in the right direction - again I appreciate your time yours Paul.
