I'm thinking of installing 2 cameras to the front. Both ColorVu 8mp 2.8mm. A to get a close up of the front of the house and B to get a view of the whole area. Any thoughts? Would 2.8mm or 4mm be better?

My front garden/drive is 12 x 12 meters. I have a 6mp 4mm lens camera 4m high.
This camera covers the whole width of 12m's and about 10m's front to back.
if it was me i would fit a 4mm 4mp camera in the middle above the front door by the roof line.
Also having it looking downwards your not going to upset your neighbours.
This is just how i would do it, if it was my home.

Personally I prefer cameras that take a lower aspect. I see so many cameras up at roof level looking down into a garden, which is great if you like to identify a thief by his bald patch. I would keep both at level A - one each side. What's happening in front of your doors, garage and car is far more important than what's happening up the road. I'd keep a focus on trying to maintain facial detail, particularly at night. And I would go for two 4mm cameras based on what you're showing there.

I did not think about that, and your right cymruchris. I dont get that problem at only 4m high.
