Hi, I have an AX Pro alarm system DS-PWA96-M-WE V1.3.0 build 241224 and I am unable to add the three tags that came with the system, it the hik connect app the add button does nothing and using a web browser the add tag is greyed out (see the attached picture)

I might be adding the tags in the wrong place but I cant find anywhere else to add a tag.

They do beep and say unrecognised tag when I place them on top of the main box.

Does anyone have and ideas how I can add them or what is up with the system?

Its not the end of the world that they don't work but if I can get them working I would have them as a spare device in the even the fobs stop working.

Thanks in advance

Hi @BigJon1973 - have you managed to add your main hub to Hik-Connect?
If so, is your account the admin account, or has somebody shared the system with you?
Which version of Hik-Connect are you using please, on which phone, and what OS version is the phone running?

Hi, yes added to Hik-Connect app, its an admin account and the only one, not a shared system and I did the install.
Version 6.7.351, android phone running android 14.

It also does the same using a PC connected to the hub using windows 11, firefox, edge and brave browser all at the the latest versions.

The alarm system hub is a DS-PWA96-M-WE
Firmware version V1.3.0 build 241224

Any ideas?

Thanks

I believe that you can only add tags via the app and I think it may be because you've not updated to Android 15.
We've checked our main hub, and the add tag button is also greyed out in a browser.
But, on the latest version of Hik-Connect (on iOS), if you go to User Management > [select a user] > Tag > Add Tag, it takes you to the Add New Card/Tag page where it tells to you place the tag on the reader - are you getting to this page?

Hi there I joined the forum as I am having the exact same problem. I am an installer and I installed an AX Pro to my office.

So I have done this on iPhone 13 using latest version of Hik Connect (iPhone also latest version of iOS):

Main screen>tap 3 buttons next to alarm name>settings>user management>tap my name>tap tag>add

Then I just get a "no permission" prompt.

I have tried to go into the Hik pro connect app and change permission (as installer) for the end user (my personal account) with no luck.

I am on the verge of contacting Hik support who are usually very good. I have also logged into the panel as the installer on the web browser and cannot see any option.

If I go to a different end user, I can add the tag, it puts the reader into tag discovery mode and works fine, so I know there is no issue with any hardware. I also double checked the pros tag was working as when I present it in ordinary working mode, it shows that an unidentified tag has been presented.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Thanks @Steve_S1W - It's interesting that you're also seeing this issue.

What's the model of your hub, please?
We're able to register tags to any user from the admin login in the app, but we have a DS-PWA64-L-WE (no built-in card reader), but with a DS-PK1-LT-WE keypad and card reader added to the system, so I wonder if that's got something to do with it...

Are you trying to register tags while it's completely disarmed?

Main screen>tap 3 buttons next to alarm name>settings>user management>tap my name>tap tag>add
Could you also send screenshots of each of these pages, please, so I can see if anything looks different to what we see?

Firmware 1.3 seems to be the common problem - my two systems are both doing strange things since the update, and Hik seem to have pulled it...

Yes, I'm wondering if V1.3 has broken the built-in readers on the mid-level hubs - our light-level hub is using V1.3 and works normally, but it may be because we're using a separate card/tag reader...

If anyone needs it, you can download V1.2.9 and earlier here:

Step 3 onwards in this post explains how to install the firmware via the hub's webpage:

Hi guys sorry for late response... I'll add some screenshots...

Sorry I uploaded the same image twice, the third one is just showing that I have no permission when I in fact do!
