Hi everyone,
Inspired by some discussions on this forum, I decided to expand my analog camera system with IP cameras. I recently purchased a Hikvision DS-9664NI-M8 NVR to integrate with my existing setup, which includes 30 analog cameras connected to a Hikvision DS-7232HQHI-K2 DVR. I successfully imported all channels from the DVR to the new NVR and can view live footage from all the analog cameras without any issues.
However, I'm encountering a problem with motion detection. After many hours of troubleshooting, I was only able to get motion detection to work on 8 channels imported from the DVR. Each time I restart the NVR, it's a different set of 8 channels, with no discernible pattern. If I only add 8 channels from the DVR, all of them will work, but if I add one more, this or any additional channel won't work with motion detection or events. Continuous recording works on all 30 channels, but that's not what I'm looking for.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I've tried everything I can think of: running the latest firmware for both devices, adding the cameras via ONVIF instead of the Hikvision protocol, and lowering the video quality to reduce bandwidth, but nothing has worked.
