Any advice what's best to do to get the shed illuminated/visible at night.
Many thanks.

Hi @camman1

The best thing would be to angle the camera up and away from the wall it is mounted to.

At the moment you have too much wall in the camera's field of view, this causes problems at night because the camera's IR light is reflecting off that wall and making that part of the image very bright. The camera's sensor tries to adjust for this brightness by making the whole image darker, this then makes the shed area of the image very dark.

If you remove most of that wall from the camera's FoV you will remove the brightness issue and the whole image should appear much brighter at night.

Help,
The camera is DS-2CD2342WD-I
Looking at how I have the turret orientated is there any reason you can see why I cant tilt it upwards any more, am I at its limit of adjustment?
Should i get it down and twist it back into its normal orientation. I think currently it's twisted 90 degrees. I think I might have done it that way years ago as the image looked right at that angle of orientation.

That should adjust further but make sure the lock screw beneath the trim ring has been loosened a little first. Apart from loosening the little screw, what can happen is that the cable assembly behind the ball that your trying to rotate upward is snagging a bit (on the hole in the soffit through which it passes). Don't be shy!; thumbs on each side at the top and push. If it won't budge due to gunk build up, just unmount it from the soffit to free it before re-fixing it. Those older models with the bare aluminium base are renowned for furring up (which also causes the trim ring to lock solid)

Done it finally.
Removed ring
Loosened lock screw
Had to forceably move the camera around cleaning up around the ball and using lubricant(GT85) to free it.
Much better now

Many thanks
