WD Purple rewrite freeze?

Morning folks,

I was awakened by the 3-long 2 short beeps this morning.
HD1 had failed some time in the night, HD2 was not picked up straight away so a gap of a few hours was left unrecorded.
Seems HD1 was full, but HD2 empty - perhaps the system attempted to overwrite HD1 first?

Bad sector detection showed on very first section, was unable to format successfully.
Once I disconnected power to the drive and reconnected, all was OK.
HD overwrite and Sleeping enabled.
All jumpers on drive out.

Am I missing something in plain sight?

Hi, Sorry for the delayed response.
We'd seen some issues with the Hikvision NVRs not liking the latest very large capacity HDDs e.g. 18TB.
If your 6TB HDD appears to have failed, then it's best to return it to your supplier - WD offer a long warranty and your vendor should be able to send you a replacement.
