Hi, recently bought NVR, I did install 4 x 14TB hard drives on it, and when searching for videos through hikconnect on my mobile app it just takes forever to load the actual footage. Is this due to the large hard drive size?

No - it's more likely a connection issue via Hik-Connect. To prove that add your NVR manually using its local IP address. I usually do that anyway and name it 'Backup - Home WiFi only'. It will always load live and recorded video quicker while on your home network. However you still need the cloud/Hik-Connect service connection as push notifications, event clips etc are reliant upon it.
In the app:
1 - '+'
2 - 'Add device manually'
3 - Adding Type - 'IP/Domain'
4 - Populate the details (Alias - Backup -'WiFi only', Address - the NVR local IP address, port - leave as 8000 unless you have changed your server port, User Name - admin, Password - your NVRs admin password)
5 - Click 'Save'
Once done, while your phone is connected to the same network on which the NVR is, click on the new site from the Hik-Connect app Home Screen. Select a camera and switch to playback. If the timeline loads promptly you've proven that the connectivity to Hik-Connect is the issue.
