Guy I have the following NVR is a : DS-7608NI-K2 / 8P, and the three cameras: DDS-2CD2087G2-L(U).

I used to manage the system (download videos from cameras) using the iVMS 4200. The problem is I've now rebuilt my Mac Pro 2 Mini (Apple Silicon), from scratch, no backup used, and if I try to install the iVMS software I get the following alert: "Legacy Installer Package - This installer package is incompatible with this version of macOS. Contact the
developer for support."

Not good news, and as we know HK are not good on support.

Are there any solutions out there? So far I've looked at:
  • iVMS on the Mac - as above no go.
  • Trying a 'Chrome' based browser - same old issue here I can get into the NVR interface but only half of it works, no images and of course the missing plugin it recommends that I install is for Windows only.
  • Looking to see if the iOS / iPad app can allow me to search for a date / time to watch, work out the timeline I wish to download and then download that video clip.
  • Load the iVMS software on a virtual Windows 11 PC (VMWare). I have it loaded but every logon I try to use to get into it fails, apart from one that asks me to input a verification code. I don't have a 2FA code for the account set anywhere, and nothing is received via email.
Completely stuck here. The primary reason I need the access is that the neighbours have had their car broken into and have asked if I can provide a video from one of the cameras.

If it helps the NVR is running software V4.72.107 build 220914, camera firmware V5.5.800 build 210628.

Any ideas guys as to how to get around this issue? If I need to provide more info please advise. Thanks in advance.

Hi @dbrewood

Which version number of iVMS-4200(Mac) are you trying to install?

If it is the latest version, we would recommend trying the previous version - V2.0.0.12 - as there have been multiple issues reported with the latest Mac version.

You should be able to use Windows 11 in a VM. I have a MacBook M1 running Apple Silicon and have Windows 11 ARM running via Parallels.

I've just tried on mine and can use Microsoft Edge to playback, search and download a specified video clip from a camera.

Edit: I've just repeated the above but remotely to a DS-7616NI-K2/16P running 4.74.210_240108 so you should have no issue.

Hi guys, firstly with iVMS I've tried version 2.0.0.12 to 2.0.0.19 (I think). All give error:

Ref the Windows 11 virtual PC I had to uninstall the existing version of the iVMS software and load the latest version. I've then looked to try and load in the backed up configuration I had from the Mac software, but could not find whwe this could be done.

In the end I've gone into the system to add the detected NVR i. (progress), but now having issues getting it to accept my saved credentials. Still working througth them now.

To close this out. I managed in the end to get my VMWare Win 11 install reactivated (as I'd migrated it to my newly rebuilt macOS build).

The Windows version on iVMS I got installed and eventually set it all up correctly; Superuser account, added the NVR and manage to log in.

I've now downloaded the video that was needed, so all is good. It is a great pity though that HIKVision look to have dropped support completely for macOS.
