Hikivision ds-2cd2032-i with on old firmware version 5.0.0 130830

I have a Hikivision ds-2cd2032-i with on old firmware version 5.0.0 130830. I have access to an older laptop with an old IE version which allows me to use the plug in. However, I am having difficulty upgrading the firmware to 5.3.0. Is this because I am skipping too many upgrades in between? How should I go about upgrading? Thanks

Yes, there is an order of upgrades and you cannot skip them all. The process to go to 5.4 (the latest) is : V5.2.0->V5.3.0->V5.4.0

"Skipping intermediate versions in upgrading may cause unpredictable problems."

So, try going from 5.0 to 5.1 and so on, and then follow the above. I had the same issue trying to skip the 5.3 from 5.2 - the upgrade counter % stayed stuck at 0%. When I followed their instructions it all worked as expected.
