Hi, Does anyone know if this nvr will cope with 8mp colorvu cameras at 20-30 fps, there is no date on the data sheet and they dont say what processor they use on any of their nvrs.

Initially I want atleast 4 cameras at prefereably 30 fps , the others 4 for later could be at 20fps , however can this machine cope with 30fps on all 8 channels ? has anyone done any tests on it ?

if it cant cope what would bes alternative in this price bracket?

Technically the NVR should be able to run 8 x 8MP cameras at their max. frame rate (25/30fps), the issue with this latest generation of 8MP AcuSense/ColorVu cameras is that they use a large amount of bandwidth when running at max. settings (up to 25Mbps each). The NVR only supports up to 80Mbps incoming bandwidth, so 8 of these cameras running at between 20-25Mbps will far exceed this bandwidth limit.

Thanks that makes sense , its ridiculous how the technical spec sheet lists upto 12mp but it doesn't have the bandwidth to handle it .
 
Yeah, we've discussed it with Hikvision support and they don't seem to understand why it is such a serious problem, the previous generation of 8MP cameras (G1 family - 2x85FWD/2x85G1) had no issue running on these NVRs because when set to H.265 or H.265+ compression they were rarely using more than 8-10Mbps. With the introduction of the AcuSense features, Hikvision has also changed the way the cameras compress the data which has resulted in huge increases in bandwidth usage and Hikvision support has been unable to give us a good answer as to why this has happened.

That has explained the confusion I was having with the bandwidth , as online calculators were giving me a lower bandwidth reading . so its the accusense predominatly causing the extra bandwidth issues. The technical doc on the 8mp accusense camera is stating upto 16mps per camera , x 8 cameras thats total of 128mps, im assuming thats using h265. absolutely bonkers , an international specialist company with 2 decades of experince and the tec docs and machines dont match up to the claims. absolutely nuts.

which machine in that price bracket would you say is most suitable to handle 8mp accusense colorvu cameras ?
