Once you have your QNAP NVR all set up, you can connect a monitor, mouse and keyboard directly to the device. This prevents you having to go through your web browser to view the interface.
You need the following components:
Firstly, connect all the components to the QNAP NVR using the ports at the back of the device. Also make sure to plug a power cable into the monitor.
The username will be the same as the one you have set in your web browser (Default Username: admin ; Password: admin)
You need the following components:
QNAP NVR

Monitor

USB Keyboard and Mouse (Although you don't have to use a keyboard as there is an onscreen keyboard, it is advised for ease of use.)

Standard VGA cable

Now power up the screen and you will be presented with a login page for the device.

Once you have logged in, you will be presented with the main interface that you will be familiar with from your web browser.

Now the system is all set up there is one minor configuration you may need to change. Your screen resolution may not be correct but there is a simple fix!
Click the button at the top right of the screen that looks like a monitor with a config wheel inside it. This will open this window:

Click the 'Screen' tab and now click 'Settings'.

This will open a new menu window where you can choose your screen resolution settings.

Once you have chosen the resolution, click 'Apply'. Your screen will then change to preview your screen in the new resolution. If it is correct click 'Yes'.

Your resolution has now been set up and you are ready to use your local monitor.
Below is a video of us using the local monitor for the first time.
