What is the best Free ip camera software to use?

ZoneMinder for Linux seems to have lots of fans.
Blue Iris is not free, but relatively cost-effective - seems to be well maintained, and well thought of by those that use it ...
Security Spy is the goto for Mac users (again, cost-effective, not free).
