    Updating the NVR through HikConnect?

I can't see why not. I've updated NVRs from the pop up on the NVR itself and also directly from Hik-Connect Pro when an icon appeared so it's safe.

    Connecting NVR 7604NXI to Wifi

The NVR needs to support the WiFi dongle. If that particular model supported one, the 'WiFi' tab would be present on the screen you showed. So unfortunately I think you're stuck. However all is not lost, you can use a Vonets WiFi bridge which will achieve the same only they are setup first...

    Padlock on video

From memory (could be wrong) setting DDNS gets around the 5 minute limit in Hik-Connect but it’s there with P2P connection. There’s certainly a 5 minute limit for playback as I got the message earlier today when looking at some footage on a system.

    New Firmware? - EOL DS-7616NI-K2/16P

I had a firmware update pop up on the local UI of a DS-7616NI-K2/16P. It's an old one and these are end of life. As usual where you would get this firmware is unknown. If you search that model: UK Product Page/Firmware Search - no result for NVR Global Product Page/Firmware Search -...

    Padlock on video

With stream encryption enabled, Hik-Connect decrypts the streams for viewing when connecting through the service. That doesn't happen when connecting using a local IP and so you need to enter the key. If you need to keep the encryption on, you'd need to stream to your tablet while using the...

    Padlock on video

The padlock usually indicates that Stream Encryption is turned on. It can be disabled in the Platform Access menu of the recorder or in the Hik-Connect app. I’m guessing that you might be using the tablet to connect to the system using its local IP address when at home and so the key is needed...

    accessing configuration interface on Mac

Yes it's normal. MacOS is poorly supported. Hikvision don't seem to be particularly interested in resolving that.

Hikvison G5 cameras Human intruction detection false alarms

That's the million dollar question...With AcuSense, Motion used to (seem to) be the least accurate, while Intrusion and Line were far more reliable due to the additional parameters that are set (Minimum Size, Maximum Size, Sensitivity, Direction [Line], and Target Validity). More recently...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

I'm not sure why the offline exceptions have started when the system remains online throughout. I'll have to dig a little deeper in the logs, a Hik-Connect offline event usual shows "CIVIL Offline Exception" or similar. Regarding the time sync I noticed that if you change the method NTP to...

My story with hikvision camera imported from Chinese wholesaler

There's not much to say on this, you've answered your own question - only buy Hikvision from official sellers in your country. You may be able flash the correct regional firmware on to your camera using a serial connection into the camera but it's a bit of a mess on and you risk bricking the...

Firmware Accusense K Series new Firmware_V4.82.100_240606

AcuSearch is present now both in the camera firmware and the NVR firmware. I’m fairly sure it doesn’t work as it’s such a big change yet there’s been no information, promotion of it by Hikvision.

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

Regarding time sync, I was seeing similar yesterday on another model (DS7608NXI-K2). While the recorder synchronizes to an NTP server, the NVR itself applies the DST bias, as all NTP servers use UTC (which matches GMT for us in the UK outside of summertime). So that time value after sync will...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

More possible bug(s) 1 - My home system has been showing Hik-Connect offline when it isn't. Hik-Connect has been working fine, notifications are received, event clips are available, while on my home network and away. However in my Hik-Partner Pro app the site is in the 'exceptions' list and...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

I only tried ANR once myself solely to see how it worked. It did work for me on that occasion but was a huge resource hog. I added a new camera to my home network using a WiFi bridge with an SD card inserted and after adding it to the NVR I enabled ANR on the NVR only. While in view of the...

HIK VISION DISAPOINTED ( HIK Connect)

The Hik-Connect service is used for push notifications as it can offer more features. The event thumbnail and video clip is not kept on the NVR/DVR, it is stored in the Hik-Connect users account. When years ago, notifications for direct connections were possible using the now retired...

Firmware New firmware V5.7.17build 240424 for ColorVu G5

@alfaclvi - Am I right in thinking you have these G5 cameras connected to a NXI-K NVR on 4.82.xxx? If so could you possibly check whether the Smart Light Compensation is there/working in Hik-Connect (light bulb icon with letter A). I installed a system today and the icon didn't appear on the...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

Is there any chance it is genuine and is it only channel D1? I'm wondering if packet loss or a momentary blip in the connection to the camera could trigger that. Do you have ANR enabled on the camera?

    Hikvision Indoor station recording

You need to add the outdoor station (not the indoor) to the NVR to record.

RTSP stream from M-Series V5 firmware

Yes exact same version - 5.03.010_240606. Cameras are G5 platform (2387G2H, 2387G2) and on the current 5.7.17 (though they worked on previous versions too). I use a different port for RTSP so append that to the IP. When I first replied I was connecting using the local IP; I've since tried it...

RTSP stream from M-Series V5 firmware

Mine have been working normally using rtsp://admin:password@mynvrip:port/Streaming/Channels/102 I have one of them loaded into an RTSP player on a tablet dashboard. I'm also using H264 for the sub stream as the particular RTSP player in use on teh dashboard won't do H265. Just tried it on VLC...
