Detection on Camera or on DVR?

Thank you for sharing the links. Odd that the available firmwares arn't aligned across all of Hikvision's portals, but I guess that's another topic! Anyhow, I tried the latest NVR firmware you mention (v4.21.005 build 190509). I can see that a few things have changed in the webUI, but even that...

Detection on Camera or on DVR?

It's a newer K-series NVR - a Hikvision DS-7616NI-K2/16P running the latest firmware (V3.4.107 build 190927) Here's a comparison of how Line-crossing detection config looks like on the DVR webui, vs on the same Camera's webui...

Detection on Camera or on DVR?

Thanks for your reply. Sounds sensible, but the Camera webui offers more settings than the NVR does for the camera - e.g. in the Camera's webui, I've recently discovered the ability to set the 'Min' and 'Max' size for Line-Crossing detection - this is a game-changer for me to reduce false triggers!

Detection on Camera or on DVR?

I'm new to this and slightly confused. It appears I can set line-crossing detection (for example) on the IP Cameras directly, as well as on the NVR (via the webui's). Even more confusingly, it appears they're not synced... if I change the Sensitivity setting on a specific Camera's webui, it...

Still receive alerts if internet is maliciously cut

Thanks for sharing the link. Do you happen to know if it’s possible to allow only certain traffic over the 4G (should the default connection go down)? I’d only want the 4G to be used for ‘priority’ traffic - eg. Camera data; as opposed to, say Fortnite.

Still receive alerts if internet is maliciously cut

Didn’t know there were routers that do that, will investigate. Thanks

    Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Still receive alerts if internet is maliciously cut

Thanks Phil, but the reason I ask is because this exact scenario has already happened to a neighbour. They broke in to their CCTV'd house and hunted down their recorder (a DVR or NVR I don't know) to attempt to delete the footage while their (non-monitored) alarm was going off! I don't want to...

Still receive alerts if internet is maliciously cut

Hi, I'm pretty new to CCTV, and have narrowed my selection of DVR's down to an NVR (with IP camera) technology for my property. However, probably stupid question but I'm gonna ask it anyway... If I'm out and my internet goes down (e.g. maliciously), then I won't receive any alerts, rendering...
