You could load iVMS-4200 on your work PC. Under the Maintenance and Management option. Click Add and select Cloud P2P. Select your region and use your Hik-connect credentials to login. This will allow you to view your camera.

I have the lag too, even on the webGUI - Only a second or so. In VLC (64bit) try lower the network caching to 300ms and see if it helps, might be a clue.
