Need a high definition night time camera?

Just to add to the above - do remember foxes are quite small - and if you use a very wide lens (such as the 2.8mm which is often recommended for general security) - the fox at night won't be a prominent part of the image captured. If you're aware that the animals congregate in a particular...

Need a high definition night time camera?

If you want night time colour - you'll need a source of lighting. If the garden is pitch black at night you won't get a colour image. Infra red won't matter if you only want colour images. So before anyone makes recommendations - do you have, or will you fit additional lighting? (It doesn't...

Set up tripwires on my Dahua CCTV?

I'm not sure you can set up 'trip wires' easily on a camera system. Do you mean electronic detection and notification? Something like 'intruder' or 'line crossing' - or do you mean actually fitting sensors on the ground to link into your camera system? You'll have to give model numbers (cameras...

Notifications to the phone only received from one camera?

It depends on how you've got everything set up. Did you install it yourself or use an installer?

Hik-Connect Remote or bluetooth mouse for ds-7608ni-i2/8p ?

How close can you get the line? The mouse I've mentioned runs on 2.4ghz wireless rather than bluetooth. What distance does it need to cover?

Hik-Connect Remote or bluetooth mouse for ds-7608ni-i2/8p ?

Run an extension USB cable from the NVR to your monitor, and then plug in a Logitech USB mouse receiver and run a wireless mouse (something like the M185 for a tenner on Amazon).

Double images in all cameras? Ghosting?

Remember it's a security system rather than a 4k movie camera. It's purpose (usually) is to capture wrongdoings, rather than marvel at the fluency of the image. If something happens - even at 10 frames per second you're going to get enough detail of what happened and some good still images. Yes...

Green Feathers PoE Bird Cam Pinouts?

I've got one on the desk next to me - but it's a sealed socket with no way to see how it's wired. Have you tried emailing help@green-feathers.co.uk - they do seem to have one tech guy called Menh who knows what he's talking about. Don't bother calling the sales line, as you're just dealing...

Camera suggestion needed (with 16mm lens)

Could you consider a PTZ? They'd be more widely available, and would give you more flexibility on focal length? You haven't mentioned what you're using it for, or what space you have for installation etc. but that could be an option.

"No resources" showing on my DVR when I connect my 4MP IP camera?

Do you still get the ‘substream’ ‘main stream’ Icon switch on the quad screen (or more) live view under each camera? That might help display cameras that might not otherwise show.

Budget Hikvision camera recommendation for use with my iDS-7204HQHI-K1 / 2S(B) DVR?

Ah you’ve deleted the offending post that flagged it up as ‘new’ so now it just looks like I’m replying to an old thread :)

Interesting - it came up as a new thread yesterday.

"No resources" showing on my DVR when I connect my 4MP IP camera?

Imagine you have a milk bottle - or any bottle - and it's full of water. That water is the data all of your cameras are producing at any given time. When you pour the bottle out - no matter how hard you shake it - the neck of the bottle restricts the flow - and no matter what you do - the water...

Budget Hikvision camera recommendation for use with my iDS-7204HQHI-K1 / 2S(B) DVR?

To be fair you need to reign in your expectations. It's understandable that you want to work to a budget (most of us have to) - but you won't get an all-singing all-dancing CCTV system that gives you the time on the thief's watch on their wrist at a distance of 100m for £12.50. (I say that to...

There's now an update in the iOS app store that does fix the issue of the 1 hour viewing problem.

Hik-Connect IOS / iPhone App Playback issues after clocks going back?

It’s certainly a common issue - I’m sure hik have got the message by now - hopefully they’ll either release a fix or rollback the updates (which I know isn’t easy)

Hik-Connect IOS / iPhone App Playback issues after clocks going back?

Historically on daylight savings time change day hik connect (in my memory) never worked properly - but at least it still showed an entire day for every day prior. It was only the time change day that was affected. This year it seems to have done something that’s affected every other day before...

Hik-Connect IOS / iPhone App Playback issues after clocks going back?

The recordings since have resumed - but the previous days still show only the one hour. It wasn’t just one day, but the entire recorded history, and the problem is still there. Hasn’t been fixed yet. If you look at any day prior to it being spotted in the app, will only give you one hour...
