If you are planning to buy Hikvision DVR then don't!

How about you start from the beginning again? What model NVR do you have? How did you go about setting it up? Did you do it? Or did an installer do it?

Basic/Advanced settings bug - pages not rendering properly?

    Even in 'Internet Explorer Mode'?

Basic/Advanced settings bug - pages not rendering properly?

Are these pages all from web browsers? What browser are you using? Try Microsoft Edge in Internet Explorer mode - see how that looks and report back.

If you are planning to buy Hikvision DVR then don't!

As above - the problems you appear to have had would likely be down to the way it was set up. Sometimes you need the knowledge of how some things in Hikvision are set up to ensure a trouble-free user experience. Sometimes someone that thinks they know what they're doing, gets it wrong, and ends...

Upgrade to a newer model NVR?

Is it this one? I think I misread your original mention of the model number. https://www.use-ip.co.uk/hikvision-ds-7604ni-k1-4p.html NVR's are not quite like other consumer items - they don't have new models every fortnight - and the technology and software doesn't seem to evolve quickly like...

Upgrade to a newer model NVR?

14 months old seems very soon to replace an NVR, when some of your issues may be down to your installer rather than the hardware itself. Hikvision NVR's are known to give the message 'No firmware update available' or similar, even if there are. Hikvision also have a fairly (to me) complicated...

We are soon to test allowing adverts here in the forum

To be fair - having a few ads, if it contributes just a little to your running costs are absolutely fine - I think most of us have gotten used to that on just about every web page we look at. Glad to see it was something that was a bit off, rather than 'the norm' I am not yet a senior - and...

We are soon to test allowing adverts here in the forum

Have any changes been made recently - it feels like we're going advert overload - seeing multiple of the same adverts over and over - the forum screen space is now just a tiny percentage of what are becoming more intrusive adverts for irrelevant stuff. (I know you have to make money somehow to...

Home CCTV - 2 Monitors to show continuous live video?

Something like the Hikvision DS-7716NI-M4/16P might be a fair choice as that has 2 x HDMI outputs of 4k each (or 8k down a single output). If you're putting it in a loft - then the built in POE ports will probably be useful for you to plug all 4 cameras in directly. It would easily handle 4 x...

Home CCTV - 2 Monitors to show continuous live video?

I would stick with a cable only solution rather than 'wireless with an app' - the amount of apps that seem to be dying off after a year or two because something better comes along is a pain in the neck sometimes. Some hikvision recorders have multiple outputs as above - if you haven't chosen one...

PTZ Linking - returning to preset after changing position?

When accessing the camera through the browser, under PTZ you should find 'Park Action' - set a time in seconds that you want it to return to a preset position - in my case Preset 1.

I have a MaxxOne elite 4 camera ptz system - does anybody know how to remove the baud rate display from the screen?

It looks like the official maxxone website is frozen/closed - so you might have to ask your retailer for setup manuals if they still have contacts with the manufacturer. If the other three didn't show it when connected and this one does - you could try a hard physical reset if the camera has one...

Thoughts on these 20x optical zoom cameras?

Are you going to use them standalone or connected to an NVR - depending on the NVR some will support more functions than others. I have Hikvision NVR's where the Jidetech will only work on Onvif - and other non Hikvision cameras the same - but if your NVR has certain functionalities you might...

How can I extend my network 300 yards to my gate / entrance?

If you do go down the route of giving this a try - if you remember, come back and let us know how it went. I'd be interested to know how things go.

Best 24/7 streaming IP camera for Owl nest in attic?

Definitely do-able. I've done it. But your budget might be a bit tight. I've learnt a lot from having 3 cameras in a local church tower to now having 12 cameras, it's been quite a learning curve. I'll ask a few questions - and then outline a few of my own learnings - have a read through - and...

I want a camera for watching our bird feeders, for direct connection to TV/monitor - Does this exist?

I haven't used this specifically - but have used other 'green-feathers' cabled network cameras - and they've been fairly good. Technology isn't the latest - but this might answer your needs. A wireless camera that doesn't need internet as it has it's own receiver, which you can buy with a hdmi...

Viewing cameras on a 4g network?

I'm connected via the default ports yes. Plug and play.

Viewing cameras on a 4g network?

Yes - that's what I do. The NVR and a number of POE cameras are connected to the 4g router on a building in the middle of nowhere where regular internet connections can't be made - and I can review live images via my hik-connect app from anywhere else via my phone on the mobile network or wifi.

Viewing cameras on a 4g network?

I have an NVR connected to a 4g router (vodafone) and it works well. Stable connection - rarely stutters unless the weather is really, really bad - very easy to plug in and set up. Alternatively you could have a POE camera connected directly to the router via a POE injector or switch if you...
