iVMS-4200 Having various problems with iVMS 3.9.0.5 - anyone else with issues?

I recently installed iVMS 3.9.0.5_E (on Windows 11). Due to problems I uninstalled previous version, rebooted and installed this new version so in theory its a fresh install. I am having 2 main problems and wondered if anyone else experiencing issues: 1) When I start main view all the feeds...

iVMS-4200 iVMS-4200 does it always require admin to run?

I upgraded my iVMS-4200 from V3.3.1.8_E to V3.9.0.5_E (on Windows 11) Is it normal that you have to run as (Windows administrator? Every time you run the software it says you must allow the software to make changes to your system - i.e. a Windows privileged admin login is required. If so this...

Firmware Wrong firmware for my camera installed?

A few questions: 1) What country/region are you in as that can affect what firmware version/download you need and where to download from. 2) How are you attempting to upgrade your camera firmware? Via the camera web interface or via SADP tool or some other method? I have many HikVision cameras...

Duration of recordings on NVR's hard disk?

If you mean how many days are stored on your personal NVR then the way I do it is in IVMS-4200 go to "Remote Playback" and when you select a day the calendar view shows an mark on days have recordings so you can count back to see how many days of recordings you have.

Rtsp for channel zero Ds-7608NI-I2 /8P?

According to some of my previous notes I got this working in the past using this RTSP URL: /Streaming/Channels/01 I can't remember which of my NVRs this was on and I can't try it myself right now but give that a go.

Colour coding of cat6 of nvr ds-7608ni-i2/8p?

For high bandwidth data applications you should always wire both ends of cables to the ANSI standard TIA-568B so just do a search engine image search for "TIA-568B" and you will see the required pin/colour order. For technical reasons (I admit I don't fully understand) it is important to keep...

32 Cameras with only 16 port NVR?

@mannis79 A) Yes, that's right. If you don't want the cameras split I think your only choice would be to connect ALL cameras to one or more PoE switches. B) Yes, you are correct, although some camera functions may rely on internet access, e.g. Network Time Protocol (NTP) to do time...

Illegal Login alerts from my Hikvision NVR?

For example, if you changed your http port from 80 to 50000 and your ip address was 192.168.0.1 you would need to use an address and specify port number in this format: http://192.168.0.1:50000

Illegal Login alerts from my Hikvision NVR?

I think ports go from 1 to 65535 Some are common to certain things, others are just used by whoever for whatever. As long as it does not clash with other network traffic on your network you could probably use whatever port. I usually use something quite high in the registered port range. See...

Illegal Login alerts from my Hikvision NVR?

HikVision don't allow you to disable the admin user! I have said here before here it's a terrible security choice by them. And to top it off the password length limit is only 16 characters! The best you can do is set all user passwords to the most complicated/obscure password possible within...

Illegal Login alerts from my Hikvision NVR?

I suspect the NVR will log the alert for every attempted login with an invalid password. If you yourself type the wrong password I think it will log the alert. You can try it and see. But what is your use-case? Do you really need these ports open to the world for your own use? Do you access...

Illegal Login alerts from my Hikvision NVR?

An "Illegal Login" error is an "Attempted" login. So someone is trying a username (almost certainly "admin") and various passwords. If you have a strong password you should be o.k. assuming there are no HikVision vulnerabilities now or in future... But to cut down on the number of hacker...

iVMS-4200 Can I get iVMS-4200 to resume at a restart with the previous layout / cameras showing?

On my version of iVMS-4200 (3.3.1.8) if you save your live view using the disk icon near the bottom-left. Then on the bottom-right click the cog/settings icon and there should be an option there "Resume Latest Live View after Restart". For me iVMS mostly resumes to the last live view, but being...

Question: Can I connect a PoE Switch to a NVR's one of the PoE Ports? ( With Bonus Question :)

Could you not connect the home powerline adapter to your router? Then it's on your home network and the garage switch is just an extension of that.

Setting up NVR via IP/local network in Hikvision APP

Only suggestions I have left are: 1) The classic "turn it off and on again" (the Asus router) and also forget the network on your phone and re-connect. 2) Some routers now have the ability to define a guest WiFi network with is separate from the main WiFi network - just checking you are not...

Setting up NVR via IP/local network in Hikvision APP

On your Asus WiFi Router config go to Advanced Settings -> Wireless -> Professional and check if "Set AP isolated" is enabled (YES). If it's enabled then wireless devices are prevented from communicating with each other and that maybe would cause the problem you are having. If it's not that...

Setting up NVR via IP/local network in Hikvision APP

I don't know anything about the Hik Connect method as I have never used it but you should be able to add a device "Manual Adding" as "IP/Domain" then just enter your NVR local IP address, port (usually 8000 unless you configured it different), and a username/password. That should then work when...

Out of the box DS-2CD3B86G2T-IZHSY - some questions

    1) You need power to do anything with the camera. So either PoE or if the camera comes with a power input adaptor and you have a suitable power supply you could power it that way. 2) As per (1), you will need power (PoE injector or PoE switch or external power supply if camera supports it). 3)...

iVMS-4200 Somes question about ivms 4200 administration

There does not seem to be any way to restrict users to certain cameras. You can only seem to restrict certain permissions. Any user regardless of permissions can always see all cameras. Like I always say - HikVision hardware is really good/reliable but their software and firmware is pretty terrible.

Remote Access to NVR Setup and Maintenance?

Yes it's possible but you need a static public IP address and a router that allows port forwarding/port redirection. And there are risks involved and things to consider. See this example I posted here about opening up port 8000 to have a direct IP connection from Hik-Connect app to an NVR...
