    Replace iVMS4200 with Security Spy?

Understood. From the earlier posts, it sounded like the SADP issue might ONLY be on the Wireless side of your network, and NOT on the wired side of your home network. Which prompted my suggestion. So much for my wild guess. :) A PC with the Wireshark tool, inserted into your network, might...

    Replace iVMS4200 with Security Spy?

Just a wild guess, that might apply..... SADP uses Multicast packets many home routers, like Linksys, by default, block Multicast packets on the Wireless side of your home network this "might" apply in your case (or not)...... so look for a Filter or Block Multicast setting in your router's...

Firmware Updated Panoramic Firmware DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL - V5.7.11 build 240903 now on the street

Updated Panoramic Firmware DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL - V5.7.11 build 240903 now on the street FYI, I noticed this update today V5.7.11 build 240319 was the previous release in typical HIK fashion, they kept the version @ v5.7.11. WHY is unknown to me. and, as usual, there are NO release notes (yet)...

Firmware Finding the latest firmware for my Hikvision cameras?

Just a wild guess...... what are the chances your USB stick is formatted as NTFS or exFat ? If so, you might have better luck re-formatting it to FAT16 (or FAT32).

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

If you're paying attention, the video has 2 isolated networks..... Network A and Network B. And then you see the guy move the 1 camera from Network B to Network A. (there is NO inter-connection between Network A and Network B). That NVR has 2 NICs (just like your new NVR)... 1 NIC on Network...

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

Virtual Host, enabled on the NVR, provides a "relay" for your Browser from Network A to Network B and back..... in order to give one direct access to the camera(s). This permits such things as camera configuration changes without physically being on Network B. If the NVR is at 192.168.2.100 on...

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

with the DS-7604NXI-K1/4P now in the mix, you're now implementing 2 unique networks. Each network must have a unique IP address range. the LAN port on the NVR is connected (most likely) to your traditional, primary home LAN. Network A. the 4 x NVR POE ports + the internal NIC on the NVR...

Firmware Cannot update a UK M-Series NVR from 4.63.020? [SOLVED]

Kudos to you for working the problem. FWIW, I'll offer you a theory. Typically, computer firmware upgrades have very little tolerance for "delays" in packet arrival. In your situation, I suspect: the VPN <<---->> VPN connection is adding a slight delay to packet arrival..... aka just...

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

In my earlier post I was referring only to the LAN port..... which is the only port that is designed to be on a traditional home LAN & thus accessible to the outside world. The internal NIC on the internal switch is not intended to be reachable by or installed on the customer's traditional home...

Firmware Cannot update a UK M-Series NVR from 4.63.020? [SOLVED]

I too have the B-R-K21B1-00 h/w (DS-7616NI-M2) and have had no issues doing any of those upgrades. Off the top of my head....... are you using a bonafide ZIP program to unzip the file ? aka..... is it possible you have an off-brand zip program & is that the underlying culprit ?

Do Hikvision NVRs have a fixed IP address?

Depends how you set the IP in the NVR. Generally, you want to set the IP as a fixed address using: static IP, or DHCP, but use DHCP Reservations in your DHCP Server so it's always assigned the same IP address Then you can block that IP in your router. And if you want to go the extra mile, you...

    DS-7616NI-M2/16P Abnormal Shutdowns?

FWIW, I was able to simulate those same LOG records by creating a power failure. Thus, as Kyle suggested, I'd attempt to work the problem on that basis. Anything you can do to reduce power consumption might reveal where the underlying problem is. You might even disconnect the 2nd disk drive...

    DS-7616NI-M2/16P Abnormal Shutdowns?

Abnormal shutdown ? Haven't experienced that myself on M-Series. Rather than guess what might be the cause, I can only suggest, crawl thru the LOG and see what can be gleemed from the log records.

M Series 9664NI-M8 Perimeter Detection - images missing for events from older model cameras?

I don't have your specific NVR Model # or your specific cameras, BUT I do recall v5.01.xx, v5.02.xx were horrific on my DS-7616NI-M2. I see no point in doing any testing with v5.02.xx. Throw that firmware level in the garbage. Today, v5.03.010 is the most currect. Tomorrow, who knows what...

NVR for 5-6 8MP IP cameras?

I have the DS-7616NI-M2 (minus the /16P) and that same G5 Hybrid camera (amongst others). Line / intrusion detection is done in that camera. Stay with the G5 cameras and all the line / intrusion can / is done in the camera. My thinking is you're not losing anything with the M series NVR...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

Just be aware this config "might" give you issues with "other" DHCP devices in your network. I'm thinking you might have 2 functioning DHCP Servers in your network.... in which case, it's a race to see which DHCP Server responds first.... and then it's a guess on what IP address you might get...

    SADP doesn't find NVR?

And if one really wants to get into the weeds on this: SSH into the NVR and run the command --> netstat -an Output should include the "noted" line below. If it does, the NVR is listening & should respond to SADP. If the line is not there, NVR won't respond to SADP. (same technique applies...

    SADP doesn't find NVR?

To add what Phil has suggested: SADP (like any scanner program) only works for devices within the same Broadcast Domain / VLAN SADP performs a multicast broadcast using the 239.255.255.xxx network Some routers (e.g. home routers) block "multicast" packets, by default. It may be worthwhile to...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

Dear HIK Developers (if you're still following this thread).... FWIW, the time shown on the Time Sync Diagnosis web page is erroneous. The "time before sync" is accurate or at least reasonably close to real time.... but the "time after sync" fails to correctly account for the DST Bias of 60...

    Firmware M-Series Firmware v5.03 Released

JB1970, thx for your comments. You've raised some interesting points. FWIW, I've gone down a number of rat holes trying to figure this abnormality out. I'll comment on your questions first: is there any chance it is genuine A: yes, arguably, in my case, it seems the error messages might be...
