How do Audio Exception events work?

Hi @macman You are correct about how the Audio Exception works (see page 43 of the camera user manual). If you play around with the audio sensitivity, you should be able to get the camera to trigger based on loud noises like dogs barking. On older cameras like this model you are using, I...

    PoE switch for 6 x DS-2CD2387G2-LU cameras

Hi @Bazza From Hikvision, we would probably recommend the DS-3T0510HP PoE Switch, which is the 8-port switch that Hikvision offers with 2 x SFP ports. This is an industrial PoE switch, but there aren't many non-industrial 8-port PoE switches that also support 2 x SFP ports. You might be able...

NVR 7732NI 16port HDMI VGA output

Hi @Duckett We only have limited experience of setting up NVRs with 2 monitors and almost no experience of systems with more than 2 monitors, so off the top of my head, I don't really have any recommendations for anything that would improve the HDMI output. There might be some other users on...

NVR 7732NI 16port HDMI VGA output

Thanks @Duckett If you are trying to connect 2 monitors to a single HDMI output, the output resolution will be limited to the maximum resolution of the lowest resolution. I think if you have 2 monitors of different resolutions, you will need to use both HDMI1 & HDMI2. This is actually what we...

NVR 7732NI 16port HDMI VGA output

Thanks @Duckett So the simple answer in regards to the HDMI/VGA options is that you cannot use these outputs simultaneously, so there is no need to have separate menu options for these different outputs. If you connected a monitor to the VGA output instead of HDMI1, you would select the...

    DS-7608NI-I2/8P should I update Firmware?

Thanks for the update and positive feedback @EtheAv8r As I expected, the cameras are also running older firmware. All the models you have use the same firmware platform, and as they are all currently on the same V5.5.3 firmware, you will be okay to update all of them straight to the latest &...

    Help with light exposure

Okay, We have minimal experience with analog systems, so I'm not sure if it is possible to identify the model numbers of the analog cameras from within the DVR menus. But analog cameras are pretty basic, so the image settings from model to model should be pretty similar. On a direct monitor...

    Help with light exposure

Thanks @almas09 But this is the model number for the recorder and not the cameras. Are the problem cameras directly connected to the ports on the recorder?

    DS-7608NI-I2/8P should I update Firmware?

Thanks @EtheAv8r The Virtual Host feature might not work when you are running the older NVR firmware, as it might not be supported by modern browsers. I would try accessing Virtual Host again once you've updated the NVR to one of the more recent V4 firmware versions.

    DS-7608NI-I2/8P should I update Firmware?

Hi @EtheAv8r It should be fine, the boot loop issue only impacted a small number of NVRs produced in/around 2015. Are all your cameras directly connected to the NVR PoE ports? If they are, they will be using the NVRs own subnet IP range (192.168.254.xxx), which is not visible to iVMS/SADP on...

    DS-7608NI-I2/8P should I update Firmware?

Hi @EtheAv8r We always recommend keeping the firmware up to date, so we would recommend updating your NVR. As you say, there have been a lot of firmware versions released since you bought the NVR. See the full list on the Hikvision Download Portal. As you are so far behind, we do recommend...

    Hik-Connect Reset HikVision Camara Password

Hi @Radhak Unfortunately, only Hikvision support can perform the password reset and we can only ask Hikvision to perform a password reset for our customers. Have you tried taking your reset file to the supplier you purchased the camera from? They might get a faster response from Hikvision...

    Hik-Connect Reset HikVision Camara Password

Hi @Radhak The reset process you describe above is the correct process. The .xml reset files are time sensitive; if you don't use them quickly enough, they can stop working. We would recommend taking that error code back to Hikvision support and ask then to generate you a new file.

    External Power instead of POE

Hi @Janaka What is the camera model that you are having this power issue with? How is it receiving PoE? From NVR PoE ports or a separate PoE Injector/Switch? If the camera is receiving power from an NVR, can you please confirm the NVR model?

    New hard drive

Hi @Newtothis It does sound like there could be a fault with the HDD. We have seen similar recurring HDD faults when there is a damaged/bad sector in the HDD. We would recommend replacing it with the WD23PURZ model. The WD22 model is the older generation of 2TB HDD, so it is probably old...
