Thanks for reading.
Recently I had a meltdown when my internet provider had to switch me to a new SIM card and router.
Living in a rural area, we are using a cellular based unlimited plan that brings a signal into the house and I have that connected to the router provided by the ISP and that...
Well, wouldn't you know it. I had worked on this problem for about 2.5 hours tonight before caving to post for help. About 5 minutes after posting, I found the solution. Posting it here for others...and to remind myself in the future!
For me, updating all the places I listed didn't work. I...
I'm in a two-step process of changing internet providers (twice). Long story. Step 1 resulted in a mini-meltdown of all that was right in my world. I'm still trying to sort some of it it out. Last night, I had everything reset the way I wanted. But, I had to reset the router back to factory...
I searched in the forum and was surprised I didn't find this already mentioned. Apologies if I searched incorrectly.
I've been trying to get my equipment squared away. I'm using IVMS-4200 on my Mac. I installed the latest version this evening. I have an HIK NVR and 7 cameras. I also use the...
It will not let me. When I look at the cameras, it shows the IP address for that slot but says: D8 Camera does not exist. I can highlight and select delete. When I do, it reads: "No IP Camera for deletion."
In another list in the DVR, it shows Camera 8 is disconnected.
In the Mac ivms...
Thanks again for the note. Updating this in case anyone else reads it and needs help.
For some reason on my TV connected by HDMI to the NVR, it would not let me change the picture aspect ratio. I changed input to other things and had a bunch of options. As soon as I went back to the NVR, the...
Hi David,
At this stage, it seems the only outstanding issue is related to Camera 8 (that I never had) and room names. Each time I load the ios apps or the Mac apps, i it is looking for Camera 8 and noting a loading error. Is there a way to remove this that I haven't found?
Making sure I...
Thanks for the info. I think why this would not show for us on the 4k tv is because it was selected to VGA although for the whole time we've owned the system it had been connected by HDMI.
I did change it back to Auto.
For some reason, our TV monitor that we have had attached to the NVR will...
Hi David. Thanks for the response. No, I randomly inserted the cameras back in to each port, not knowing this would be an issue. I have an 8 channel NVR but only 7 cameras, so last night I ended up moving the cameras to the first 7 slots to leave number 8 empty.
After this, all of the...
Hey David,
Wow, had no idea of your time zone. Thanks for staying up and providing answers. Hope this finds you well-rested!
I really appreciate your help. I'm still struggling with some things but here's where I'm at:
1. Cameras are back up on the NVR, and on my Mac's IVMS-4200. Also...
May I ask a follow-up question? Part of my mess started when trying to change the screen resolution so I could see the entire menu on the NVR. My TV/monitor connected to the NVR would not permit me to make any such changes. Is that controlled somewhere in the NVR menu of choices? I thought...
Hi David. So I plugged the NVR back in and connected the LAN. The NVR shows up in SADP. DHCP is not enabled. It appears I was able to change it to enable DHCP.
It rebooted and the IP address is now in line with the others and correct.
I am in the system via web! You are fantastic!
I...
Thanks for the info. If the NVR is connected to the switch and the computer is a different room but connecting to the switch, I guess that works? I saw a video online where a guy said the NVR needs to be connected directly to the computer, so I've been unplugging it and bringing it to the...
Thanks for this response. I really appreciate it.
May I confirm the right way to connect to SADP? Is it my computer ethernet to the POE on the NVR?
Last night the SADP tool would not seem to accept my admin password although I never had this issue on the unit itself. I have access to the...
I will need to re-connect the device to check SADP. I wonder if I was doing this correctly. I brought the NVR into the my computer room and experimented with connecting computer straight to NVR from ethernet on the computer to the LAN on the NVR. Then I experimented with ethernet from...
