I have now solved the mystery. It has to do with the file naming, since the upgrading file name is the same (digicap) it has to be just that and not (eg. digicap (1) ) I did since there were 3 files. many thanks to admins and who ever comes to read this thread.

The problem is that the update files were not downloaded in order and hence I accidently updated the NVR (from IVMS4200) to the 2nd latest firmware before the 1st one I should have update and it is now rebooting it self from time to time and the webpage isn't loading the NVR would loose...

Uhm.. the NVR says that the firmware is mismatched? any more recommendations?

Thank you such for the advice but the webpage seems to show error can not find file path is it possible to direct me to a different link?

I wonder if there is any update available for the DS-9664NI-XT NVR since mine is on V3.1.7 141201 and I some how would like to be able to link it to the Hik app foe remote viewing.
